Lake Superior is transformative, precious, sacred and vulnerable – my inspiration comes from Tantric art, Taoism and modernist artist greats like Wassily Kandinsky, George Morrison (Ojibwe/Minnestoa); Agnes Pelton and Transcendentalists. This painting is informed by the nature of place, a hybrid of mixed media: digital imagery scrambled, altered and printed on canvas; then painted into with upcycled "big box store" latex enamels, acrylics, layered in compound color, textural image integration on stretched canvas.
